D.K. Shivakumar B.Ed. College was established in 2007-08 and is affiliated with Kuvempu University. It offers Bachelor's degree courses in the field of education and is managed by the Hebburu Charitable Trust. It is housed in a well-equipped building as per NCTE norms. It is situated on Shankara Matta Road in the old town of Bhadravathi. The campus refreshes with its calm and quiet environment, which is completely conducive to education. The college has a track record of providing good-quality education and getting almost 100% results every year.

ABOUT BHADRAVATHI..

Bhadravati, or Bhadravathi, is an industrial city or Steel Town and taluk in the Shivamogga District of Karnataka State, India. It is situated at a distance of about 255 kilometres (158 m) from the state capital Bengaluru and about 20 kilometres (12 m) from the district headquarters, Shivamogga. The town is spread over an area of 67.0536 square kilometres (25.8895 sq m) and has a population of 151,102 as per the 2011 census. Bhadravathi lies in the central part of Karnataka State, in the south-east corner of the Shivamogga district. The latitude and longitude coordinates of Bhadravathi town are 13.840°N and 75.702°E. Bhadravathi is at an altitude of 597 metres (1,959 ft) above sea level. The Bhadra River flows from the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary through the Bhadravathi city. Bhadravathi lies between Western Ghats (Malnad) and Aremalenad region. Bhadravathi lies in the border of two Malnad districts Shivamogga and Chickamagalur.
Major Tourist attractions around the city include;

1. Lakshmi Narasimha Temple: The temple built in 13th century in Hoysala architecture situated in the heart of the city.
2. Bhadra Dam: Bhadra Dam is situated across Bhadra river which is 20 km from the city.
3. Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary: BWS is a protected area and a tiger reserve as part of Project Tiger, located 23 km south of Bhadravathi
4. Gondi: Gondi is situated at the foothills of Western Ghats, Check dam is the major tourist attraction of the place.
5. Kenchammanna Gudda and Gangur: situated amidst the Western Ghats, which is a major tourist attraction in monsoon.

We are living in a fast-changing world. A changing society is progressing at a grouping speed due to the impact of science, scientific research, and technological development. Globalization in our daily lives is vibrant and unavoidable, so the need to be geared up for tomorrow is greater than ever before. Opportunities before us are immense, and the task is onerous. With this mind, we continue to march steadily towards our aim to provide responsible citizens who will fascinate in nation building. It is a fact that the person of a nation depends upon the quality of its teacher, so along with providing responsible citizens, teachers’ effectiveness and efficiency are the good of the instruction. The total system of education can be overhauled and streamlined only when the teachers are well trained professionally and personally. Along with the preparation of the board base, the teacher receives training in teaching methodology, skills, education, and administration through intensive practice of teaching. Microteaching and internship are rigorously given in which practicing schools are also engaged the college has as it backbone excellent infrastructure teaching laboratories and general facilities are amongst the best.
